Product Description |
| From the renowned company that created the Swiss Army knife a century ago comes this complete set of tools for bartenders and waiters--all neatly folded into a single implement that measures just 3-1/4 inches long. Sheathed in the famous Swiss Army red plastic, the Waiter pocket knife is a toolbox small enough to fit into a pocket or clip onto a key ring. A valued companion, this pocket knife consists of eight separate tools and carries a lifetime warranty against defects. The tools inside the pocket knife are a large knife blade, a wire stripper, a cap lifter, a can opener, a corkscrew, a screwdriver, a toothpick, and tweezers. --Fred Brack |

The pocket knife you really use

| This is the pocket knife I carry when travelling. You have what you need. It is thin, ligh. You have a blade for peeling and cut a fruit. A corkscrew for that special wine you will have in your room at a discounted price. Sometimes I use the cap opener and as far as I can remember I have used once the can opener. In other words do not go for those mini or maxi pocket knife, have your "waiter" with you! |
Just the essentials

| This knife is perfect in terms of sleekness (no bulge knife cutting into your pants) and just having the few tools I most commonly need. I use the knife, corkscrew and bottle opener all the time when camping, and the tweezers are surprisingly handy too. |
Nice and compact

| This is the perfect minimalist picnic knife. The bare essentials in a knife that can be comfortably pocketed. Very durable and easy to use. An excellent, always useful and tasteful gift. |

| It is sharp, thin, light, red :). An excellent gift for a friend. If it cost 5$, I would buy one for each of my friends (150 people). |
Great urban every day carry tool

I have owned a Waiter for 15 years now and carry it every day. The knife is high quality, with the ability to take a nice edge when re-sharpened.
It comes sharp enough to shave the hair off of your arm.
The tweezers are very handy, and they work surprisingly well.
Of course for urban situations, the corkscrew and bottle opener come in very handy!
A great all around small pocket tool.
I bought three more this year - and am gifting them to special friends.
Great smaller knife, but more useful that it's size belies. |
Great little knife for the price

I wanted an inexpensive picnic knife (blade, bottle opener, and corkscrew) that was big enough to be useful, while still small and light enough to carry around in my pocket every day. I'm quite pleased with Victorinox Waiter. I'd buy it again and recommend it if you're looking for this type of knife.
Most people have a pretty good idea of what they're getting when they buy a Victorinox Swiss Army knife (which company marketers insist on calling "pocket tool" ;-) The Waiter is a nice little knife of decent quality at a good price. It's 3.25 inches long overall with a 2.5 inch blade (very bottom of base to tip). This is about .25 inches shorter than the "Camper" Swiss Army knife I grew up with but still long enough to be useful (cut an orange, etc.). It's quite thin and light, but still feels well made like its larger counterparts.
There are two brands of "real" Swiss Army knives: Victorinox and Wenger. The Wenger Evolution (Evo) 63 is the equivalent to the Victorinox Waiter. I discovered it on-line after I bought the Waiter, got curious and ordered it because I was drawn in by the contoured handle. I was surprised by how much nicer the less expensive Victorinox was. The edges of the Wenger 63's noticeably hollow handle don't line up flush with inside metal knife housing (by design). It's a bit wider than the Waiter and has a more bulky (less pocket-friendly) feel. The Wenger blade doesn't have the luster of the Victorinox (though the edge is good) and the bottle opener is thinner. Their "patented locking screwdriver" feature refers to the shape, not to any locking in place ability. The Wenger feels noticeably cheaper in comparison ("in comparison" - it's still an OK knife). So with the benefit of some hindsight, I recommend the Victorinox Waiter above. It's a great, versatile little knife and a real value. |

| I bought the for my wife to replace another SAK. I asked her what tools she used and said only the cork screw, bottle opener and knife blade. So when I found te waiter it was perfect. The knife also has a great slim profile. |
Perfect Pocket Knife

| This is the perfect pocket (like one that you carry around every day) knife. Because it has only what you need and is therefore not big and heavy. I am on my 3rd one of these, not because they broke but because I lost them, and will buy another if I loose this one too. |
The classic keeps going

| I bought this knife for my son to have with him while at the lake. It does everything a pocket knife should; it's blades are sharp, it's taken a beating and kept going, and it's small enough for a boys pockets and not fall out. |
