Excellent small knife!

This is my third Victorinox Executive pocket knife. (Lost one, gave one to a friend.) I collect pocket knives so I think I know a little on the subject. I sometimes also carry a larger knife for heavier cutting duties, but I always have this one in my pocket. Always. The scissors are top quality, the blades come sharp and are easy to resharpen, the nail file is very good - I've even loaned it to ladies who are suprised by the job it does. OK, the orange peeler is sort of silly, but even it does a good job of peeling oranges the three times a year one might want to do such a thing. If you're thinking of buying this knife, stop thinking. Just buy it, you won't be sorry.
Best small knife I've had

I have been carrying a Victrinox Executive knife for years. It has most everything I need utility wise during the day. I couldn't list the thousands of uses I've put it to over the years. From the two blades to the screwdriver, pealer, sissors, tooth-pick, tweezers; it is a lifesaver! Unfortunately, I often misplace or even lose one. I always keep a couple on hand for that reason. Now they won't let you carry it on a plane, but because of the liquid restrictions I usually check one bag, so I keep an Executive in by suitcase.

The Executive is perfect. I've owned one since spring of 2006 and it has never let me down since. I lost it once but my dog found it for me. I think the size of this knife is perfect, it is not as small as they come nor as big as they come. It is still big enough for heavy use however. This knife is a better option than the big Victorinox knife.
I used to think that the tweezers, toothpick, orange-peeler, and nail file were pretty much useless, but they really arn't. I can't go a day now without all these tools! These knives will last forever...I promise....but they will scratch and so on. But who cares ya'll! This is the perfect knife and gift for anyone who loves good ol' fashioned quality.

15 years in my shirt pocket

I have had this knife every day for 15 years right there in my shirt pocket. I have fixed things, and peeled Clementines for my wife and kids using the orange peeler (works perfectly once you understand its function), tightened loose screws in the car waiting at stop lights, clipped a coupon or two, and loaned the knife to the wife and kids to fix the occasional hanging thread or broken fingernail, etc. Big enough to do a lot of useful work and small enough not to scare the timid when you take it out to use it. It is a useful addition to any man's pocket (or woman's purse for that matter).

My wife got me this very knife a couple of Christmas's ago. I collect knives and am always on the lookout for a feature rich easy to carry tool. I keep mine on my key ring so it is with me when ever I leave the house. The blades are efficient slicers. There is no rust on the knife which has recieved no maitenance. During an office move I used my executive to open a locked door which saved me from having to haul my junk back down several flights of stairs. It is beefier than the little classic but still easy to carry in pocket or on a keyring. This would be a great gift for just about anyone. It is small enough as not to scare the sheepish types in the office. Because of it's sheeple friendly appearance it has become my go to cutter in public. Very durable, low maitenance and useful.

I have carried this knife for over ten years in my office job and never run out of uses for it. I like that it is slim and easy to carry and that people who haven't been raised around knives do not panic when I pull it out. While there are SAK's that are smaller, like the Signiture and Ambassador models, the longer blade length and larger scissors are more useful than the others. However, the orange peeler is rather strange. I tried using it when I first bought it and, while it worked as advertised, I find the peeler better at prying things loose and the small screw driver on the end works very well. However, this is NOT a field knife and will not suffice as a workman's tool.

The Victorinox swiss army knife seems to offer the best overall features.
This review is for a replacement of the same model that I bought. The first model still works but was used in a couple of emergency situations that required me to push the knifes limitations. They use top quality steel and with the amount of torque I applied on the knife I'm amazed it did not break or become disfigured. The knifes design, quality, craftsmenship, and usefulness will keep me a loyal customer. |

This is an ideal pocket knife for everyday use, and comes in handy when I'm fishing. The small size makes it easy to fit in the pocket, but the tools included make it more useful than many pocket knives. Hopefully I will remember it is in my pocket when I go through security screening. I had to pitch a very expensive knife going into a political rally because I forgot it was in my pocket. This knife is the replacement for that one, but at half the price.

I've had several of this style (they seem to have several model numbers for the same configuration). I tend to lose them occasionally. I thought I had to have the usual red model, but saw the black one on Amazon for lower price and free shipping. Now I like the shiny black model as well or better than the red. Same excellent knife to carry wherever I go (except through airline check points---damn terrorists).
